POPIA CONSENT AND PROCESSING NOTICE

1. PURPOSE

This POPIA Consent and Processing Notice explains how Place2Stay processes personal information when you use the Platform, create an account, publish a listing, upload verification documents, or contact support.

3. WHAT PLACE2STAY PROCESSES

Depending on your role and how you use the Platform, Place2Stay may process:

  • name and surname

  • email address

  • phone number

  • profile information

  • student or tenant information

  • landlord or operator information

  • identity documents

  • company, trust, or authority-to-advertise documents

  • listing data and property information

  • support communications

  • enquiry information

  • technical and usage data



4. WHY PLACE2STAY PROCESSES THIS INFORMATION

Place2Stay processes personal information for platform purposes including:

  • account creation and management

  • authentication and security

  • listing publication and moderation

  • search, save, map, and enquiry features

  • identity verification

  • authority-to-advertise verification

  • review of proof for badges or special claims shown on listings

  • support and troubleshooting

  • fraud prevention and abuse prevention

  • record keeping and legal compliance



5. LANDLORD VERIFICATION CONSENT

If you upload landlord verification documents or supporting evidence, you consent to Place2Stay processing those documents for:

  • identity verification

  • authority-to-advertise verification

  • fraud prevention

  • account administration

  • support

  • internal moderation or review

  • review of specific listing claims or badges


Optional supporting documents may also be processed for these platform purposes.

Uploading optional supporting documents does not mean Place2Stay becomes a compliance authority, inspector, or certifier.


6. LAWFUL BASIS

Place2Stay processes personal information on one or more of the following lawful grounds:

  • your consent

  • performance of a platform service or agreement

  • legal obligation

  • legitimate interests such as fraud prevention, moderation, platform security, and support



7. SHARING

Place2Stay may share personal information:

  • with relevant users where necessary for enquiries and responses

  • with service providers helping us operate the Platform

  • with legal or regulatory authorities where required by law

  • with professional advisers where reasonably necessary


Place2Stay does not sell personal information to third parties for their independent marketing use.

  • platform operation

  • verification

  • support

  • fraud prevention

  • moderation

  • dispute handling

  • legal compliance
